You will have to know what your dreams and goals are and make a plan to acheive them. This is called Curriculum-building because we will be building your resume, your Curriculum Vitae by thinking of what would be the steps, action and skills needed to accomplish your goal.

Think of these questions to construct your Curriculum-building plan:

  1. What is your vision of your life in 5 years and what would be your dream job?
  2. What will be the 5 Big Steps that will get you closer to achieving your dream job?
  3. How can you deconstruct it into manageable goals?
  4. What will be your daily small steps that you will take in order to get contribute to those 5 big steps?
  5. How can you turn those daily actions into habits that you will include into your routine?
  6. Who are you and how can you best express your identity through your resume?
  7. What jobs and experience will you need to have in order to get your dream job?
  8. How can you position yourself in social circles (clubs, groups, events) in order to be in contact with the people that might see your potential as a job candidate?
  9. What skills will you need to get your ideal job? (Ex: Networking, Excel, Communication Skills, Cognitive Skills, Academic Degrees)
  10. What distinctions will make you stand out? (Ex: Prizes, Certifications, etc.)
  11. How can you describe yourself in your resume in a way that makes you stand out?
